Am186CU CPU with  communication peripherals

IPC BUS

P41 is an embedded CPU, based on AMD Am186CU microprocessor at 48 MHz.
On board resources: RAM, FLASH memory, 2 serial ports and 1 USB port for connections with external devices.

It has been designed by Leomatic for its PNC Rack systems.

Its standard PNC firmware performs like a Computerized Numeric Control (CNC) and a Programmable Logic Control (PLC) at the same time, so allowing a complete control over an automatic machine.

P41 may be directly connected to a Windows PC for the following operations:
- download of application data/parameters or of the on-board firmware itself;
- download of on-board Firmware of any other Leomatic card of the PNC system;
- configuration of the PNC system for a specific application;
- monitoring/test/diagnostic of the PNC system.

  • Each serial port may be configured as RS232 / 422 / 485 / CAN.
  • 512 Kbytes of retentive RAM.
  • 512 Kbytes of  volatile  RAM.
  • 2 Mbytes of FLASH memory.
 P41 CPU is supplied with a standard on-board Firmware handling the followings:
  • Management of Leomatic IPC Bus: configuration, data programming and storing, monitoring and test of each card inserted in the system.
  • Download and store on Flash of the control logic (PLC) for the specific  application.
  • Download and store on Flash of the  on-board Firmware of any card.

Leomatic supplies P41 cards with a free-of-charge software suite, including technical manuals, which allows a quick and easy development of a custom software for a Windows PC. A programmer may use the procedures/methods of the Dll, or directly include some of the ActiveX supplied; he may so handle all of hardware resources and/or realize a software user's interface for the specific application.

The software suite also includes:
- a PLC programmer (utilities LeoPlc or LAB) to edit/compile/download the PLC program;
- a supervising tool (utility PncTool) to configure/inspect/test the PNC system.
