4 or 8
high-speed counters
or
16
digital IN +
16 digital OUT photo-coupled
event-driven
IPC BUS
|
-
16 digital inputs + 16
digital outputs, suitable for a slot of an IPC Leomatic.
-
These inputs may be
used as general purpose I/O as well as channels for high-speed
counters (2 inputs for each channel).
-
Each channel of an
high-speed counter is configurable via software in the following
ways:
-
Incremental
Encoder counter (PHA, PHB)
-
UP/DOWN
counter (PULSE, DIR)
-
UP
counter (PULSE, ENAB)
-
Based on DSP
microprocessor, to grant very fast acquisitions and elaborations.
-
You may change via SW
any acquisition and elaboration parameter.
-
Up to 8 P20 cards
on the same system (3 jumpers to set address), for a
total of 64 high-speed counters.
-
It is possible to ask
Leomatic for a customized Firmware version.

Functions
|
- Based
on a DSP microprocessor at 10 Mhz
- P20 can send an
interrupt to the main CPU, that can be selected by
jumpers between 3 different IRQ
- P20 can generate a
periodical interrupt, from every 20 ms up to 1.3 s.
Also this interrupt can be selected by jumpers
between 3 different IRQ.
- 8 high-speed
simultaneous counters:
-
Max
freq. of Incremental Encoder:
60 KHz (15x4)
- Max
freq. of UP, UP/DOWN conters: 30
KHz
- Incremental Encoder
signals level:
12...30 Vdc.
- Position range: ± 231
counts (32 bits)
- 16 digital
photo-coupled inputs, PNP type (24 Vdc nominal).
- 16 digital
photo-coupled outputs, PNP type
(24 Vdc nominal); each output acts as
"current source", with a maximum fan-out of
400 mA.
- Up to 8 P20
cards on the same system (3 jumpers to set address), for a total
of
128 Inputs + 128 Outputs or 64 counters.
|
- Each counter type (Incremental
Encoder, UP/DOWN, UP) may be configured via software.
- Sampling time of
control algorithms may be set from 20 µs
up to 2 ms.
- You can preset and/or read
the value of each
counter.
- Each input logic
level (Normal Open or
Normal Closed) is configurable via software.
- On board firmware
auto-diagnostic functions (error conditions).
- Handling of fast
EVENTS (I/O edge, position targets, ...) and associated
ACTIONS (I/O
set/clear, start/stop of a counter, ...),
with typical response time of 50 µs.
(See
tables below)
- Handling of
electronic cams by means of ACTIONS
associated to programmed EVENTS.
|
|
| |

Main Events
|
Main Actions
|
- A programmed target
position is reached.
- Positive/negative
edge of a digital Input.
- ....
|
- Set/Clear
of a digital Output (electronic cams).
- Sending of an Interrupt
to the main CPU.
- Start/Stop
of a counter.
- ....

Leomatic
supplies P20 cards with a free-of-charge software library,
which contains procedures/methods allowing to handle
all of hardware resources and to realize a software user's
interface for the specific application.
Are also
supplied some "demo" files, in C / C++ / Visual Basic
languages, showing an example on how to use the software
library.
Ask Leomatic
for any customized Firmware version.
